Axiom Perps: Trading Perpetual Futures Inside the Axiom Terminal

How perpetual futures work on Axiom Trade: supported markets, leverage, funding, fees versus spot, and why perps in the same account as memecoins changes how you manage risk.

Axiom Perps: Trading Perpetual Futures Inside the Axiom Terminal — Axiom Pro guide

Axiom Pro is known as a memecoin terminal, but the Perpetuals tab is one of its more useful features for anyone who also trades majors. Perps let you go long or short SOL, BTC, ETH and other liquid assets with leverage, from the same account and balance you use for spot.

What Axiom perps are

Perpetual futures are contracts that track an asset's price with no expiry. You post margin, choose leverage, and hold a long or short position for as long as you want, paying or receiving a periodic funding rate that keeps the contract near spot. Axiom routes perps through an integrated on-chain venue rather than running its own order book, so liquidity is shared with that venue's other users.

Bar chart of liquidation distance on Axiom perpetuals: 2x leverage is liquidated by roughly a 50 percent adverse move, 5x by 20 percent and 10x by 10 percent, with a note that fees and maintenance margin move the real level closer.
Liquidation distance is the whole risk: at 10x, a 10% move the wrong way ends the position.

Markets and leverage

Axiom lists the major crypto assets plus a rotating set of large-cap altcoins. Leverage limits vary by market; majors allow the highest, smaller markets less. Higher leverage means a closer liquidation price, so treat the maximum as a limit, not a target.

Fees: perps vs spot

Perps do not use the 1% spot fee. They follow a maker/taker schedule set by the underlying venue, shown in the perps tab before you place an order, plus funding paid or received every funding interval. The spot referral discount (code trading20) applies to swaps, not perps. See Axiom fees per trade for the full picture.

Why perps in the same account matters

Three practical uses:

  1. Hedge memecoin exposure. Long a basket of Solana memecoins in spot, short SOL perps against it. If the whole market dumps, the short offsets part of the loss.
  2. Park capital productively. Between memecoin trades, a low-leverage major position or the USDC yield account earns while you wait.
  3. One balance, no bridging. Profits from a memecoin run can go straight into a perp position without withdrawing to an exchange.

Traders on BullX or Photon have to hold a separate account on a perps venue for the same result. See BullX vs Axiom.

How to open a perp position on Axiom

  1. Open the Perpetuals tab in the terminal or app.
  2. Pick a market and choose long or short.
  3. Set size and leverage. The panel shows your liquidation price; keep it far from current price.
  4. Set take-profit and stop-loss on the order ticket, exactly as with spot orders.
  5. Confirm. Margin is drawn from your Axiom balance.

Monitor funding: a heavily long-skewed market can cost meaningful funding to hold long over days.

Risks

Leverage cuts both ways. A 10x position is liquidated by a 10% move against you, and majors move 10% in a day regularly. Use low leverage, always set a stop, and never let a perp become an accidental all-in. Perps on Axiom are a tool for managing risk, not a shortcut around it.

Who should use Axiom perps

Traders who already move between memecoins and majors, and want one balance and one interface. Pure memecoin traders can ignore the tab entirely; nothing about spot trading depends on it.
